Privacy policy

1. Data controller

Makeset, whose contact details are in the legal notice, is the controller of data collected via this site, within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Belgian law of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to personal-data processing.

2. Data collected and purposes

Contact form

When you fill the form we collect: your name, email, company (optional), topic, message, plus technical metadata (IP address, user-agent, referer, language) for traceability and spam prevention.

Purpose : answering your request and keeping a record of the exchange.

Legal basis : performance of pre-contractual measures at your request (article 6.1.b GDPR) and legitimate interest in securing our forms (article 6.1.f).

Cookies and audience measurement

With your consent, audience-measurement cookies (Ahrefs Analytics) are placed. They do not profile any visitor and are not shared with third parties for advertising. See the cookie policy for details.

Legal basis : consent (article 6.1.a GDPR).

3. Recipients

Your data is processed exclusively by the Makeset team. No data is sold or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes. Our only processors are our technical providers (EU hosting, SMTP provider, analytics provider), bound by an agreement compliant with article 28 GDPR.

4. Transfers outside the EU

No transfer of data outside the European Union is performed for form data. Audience-measurement tools are hosted in the EU.

5. Retention period

  • Contact messages: 3 years from the last exchange, then deletion or anonymised archival.
  • Technical logs (IP, user-agent): 12 months maximum.
  • Consent cookies: 12 months, then renewed consent requested.

6. Your rights

Under articles 15 to 22 of GDPR you have the following rights:

  • Access : obtain confirmation that data about you is being processed and a copy of it.
  • Rectification : have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Erasure : request deletion of your data in the cases provided by law.
  • Restriction : request that processing be temporarily suspended.
  • Portability : retrieve your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection : object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Consent withdrawal : at any time, without retroactive effect, via the « Cookie preferences » button in the footer.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@makeset.be. We reply within one month (extendable to 3 months for complex requests).

7. Complaint

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (APD/GBA), 35 rue de la Presse, 1000 Brussels, www.autoriteprotectiondonnees.be. You may also contact the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures proportionate to the risk: HTTPS everywhere, security headers (CSP, HSTS), form rate-limiting, encrypted backups, regular updates and restricted data access. Any security incident affecting your data will be notified within the timeframe set by article 34 GDPR.

9. Changes

This policy may evolve. The last-update date is shown at the top. Major changes will be notified via the cookie banner or a site notice.
